It has begun – ever since Nintendo realized that we gamers are suckers for special editions as well as a variety of colors with the Game Boy, they decided to release different colors and tie-ins with other franchises, video game ones especially, only to see sales of their hardware get boosted all the more. You know what they say – if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and that is exactly what Nintendo will be doing with their latest 3DS portable console as well. The Japanese gaming giant will be rolling out its first color variation a mere 3 months plus after its release, offering “Flare Red” to capture your attention (and your hard earned money, of course).
If you have fallen prey to Nintendo's simple yet brilliant marketing strategy in the past, will you do the same with the 3DS range? After all, don't you think that you've gotta collect ‘em all? You have been warned, so it is time to start saving up for the inevitable tsunami of color variations that will hit in the future.
